If you’re at all interested in wildflowers, this is a not to be missed opportunity to join Owen for a walk in Balnahard.
Owen and his colleagues have been studying and documenting the plants of Colonsay for several years and are currently in the final stages of research for a much anticipated book of Colonsay’s flora
This walk will take in the flora of mires, in-bye hay meadows and rocky moorland. Balnahard is well known for the wide array of wild flowers in the sand dune area, but the small burns, marshes & rocky outcrops also provide habitat for many plants.
Meet at An Crossan (start of Balnahard track). The exact walk route will depend on the drought conditions and will be adapted to take in damper areas
Session cost is £5.00 per person
